Seymour II™ Pressure Ulcer Simulator

Modified and now made of a new flexible and realistic material that allows plasters to be easily applied and removed without leaving adhesive residue. It is the most complete model of its kind, cast by a 74 year old patient and offering a close to life look and feel. It represents the following pressure ulcers* (NPUAP 2007 - National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel): Stage I, stage II, stage III with detachment and tunneling, subcutaneous fat and soft necrotic tissue, deep stage IV with exposed bone, detachment, tunneling, subcutaneous fat, scab and necrotic soft tissue. A suspicious deep tissue injury (DTI) is also depicted with an unclassifiable soft necrotic crust/tissue and wound dehiscence. Stages III and IV are positioned so that it is possible to show and fabricate a "bridge" dressing for use with vacuum and negative pressure suturing wound treatment devices. This model makes it possible to visualize and understand the differences in injuries. Each wound has been carefully colored to render it as it would appear on a patient. Wound cleaning, classification, staging and diagnosis can be demonstrated and practiced, as well as measurement of wound length, depth, detachment and tunneling. The wounds are positioned in such a way that it is possible to show several dressings at the same time.
