Interactive Water Cycle Model
A Hands-On Demonstration of Evaporation, Condensation, and Precipitation
This educational model allows students to visually explore the water cycle and understand how water continuously moves between the Earth’s surface and the atmosphere.
Through a simple and engaging classroom demonstration, students observe the main stages of the water cycle:
- Evaporation: Water is heated and changes into water vapor.
- Condensation: Water vapor cools on a cold surface and forms water droplets.
- Precipitation: Droplets form on the cloud and fall back as simulated rain.
- Runoff: Water flows down the mountains and returns to the reservoir.
An incandescent lamp (provided by the user) simulates the energy of the sun, providing heat to evaporate the water in the lower reservoir. Ice cubes are used to cool the water vapor, allowing students to observe condensation as droplets form on the cloud.
The model includes an activity guide to support classroom demonstrations and help students understand key concepts related to Earth science, weather, and environmental processes.
